Plastic marine waste becomes drinking water stations
The story of Aquatap
We worked with charity Our Only World, along with a team of metal manufacturers and designers, to create the ground-breaking product which will see free drinking water available in 15 locations around Cornwall from summer 2022.
Other water refill stations that exist in Cornwall are supplied from a company in America. This seemed crazy to me as I thought there must be a way to do this using local companies in a more sustainable way.
Tina Robinson, Our Only World
First the charity had to get funding and then find a source of the raw material. We were closely involved in this stage as working with waste plastic is very different to virgin polymer and it required a lot of fine tuning to ensure the end result was high quality.
Many local companies were involved in the process. Read more on the story.

“RevRoto has been an essential part of our success in developing our ‘Aqua Tap’ project.
We had to make a unique element for the Aqua Tap and designed a complex dolphin shape made from recycled marine waste. We had never used roto moulding before, and RevRoto hadn’t used this plastic before. RevRoto spent time with us explaining the processes and gave us tours of their plant, and we had a number of face-to-face meetings. They also sourced three quotes to build the tooling to ensure we achieved good value. The whole team have been extremely helpful, and it’s a great team to work with. ”
