What can I make with rotational moulding? +

Almost anything that's hollow. Rotational moulding is incredibly versatile and can produce products ranging from small containers to large tanks. Common applications include water tanks, playground equipment, kayaks, planters, industrial housings, automotive components, medical equipment housings, and bespoke furniture. If you can imagine it hollow, we can probably mould it.

How long does a project typically take? +

Timelines vary depending on the complexity of the product and tooling requirements. Simple products with existing moulds can be turned around in days. New tooling typically takes 6-12 weeks depending on complexity. We always work to agree realistic timescales upfront and keep you informed throughout the process.

Can you use recycled plastic? +

Yes. We can work with recycled polyethylene materials where appropriate. The suitability depends on the application and the quality requirements of the finished product. We're happy to discuss the options and help you make the most sustainable choice for your project.

Is rotational moulding eco-friendly? +

Rotational moulding is one of the more environmentally friendly plastics processes. There is virtually zero waste as all material is used in the product. No harmful emissions are produced during the process. Products are fully recyclable at end of life. The process uses less energy than many alternative manufacturing methods.

What are the limitations of rotomoulding? +

While rotational moulding is extremely versatile, it's best suited for hollow products. Wall thickness can vary slightly compared to injection moulding, and cycle times are generally longer. However, tooling costs are significantly lower, making it ideal for low-to-medium volume production runs and large products that would be impractical with other methods.

How much does rotational moulding cost? +

Costs depend on the size and complexity of the product, tooling requirements, material choice, and production volume. Rotational moulding tooling is typically 3-5 times less expensive than injection moulding tooling, making it an excellent choice for lower volumes.
