What happens when you combine environmental activism with innovative manufacturing? You get the Aquatap -- a public water refill station made from recycled marine waste plastic. It's a project we're incredibly proud to be part of.

From ocean waste to public good

Our Only World, the organisation behind Aquatap, had a simple but powerful idea: collect plastic waste from the marine environment and transform it into something useful for communities. Public water refill stations reduce the need for single-use plastic bottles while being made from the very plastic that was polluting our oceans.

The manufacturing challenge

Working with recycled marine plastic is not straightforward. The material comes from various sources and has been degraded by sun, salt, and sea. It behaves differently to virgin polyethylene and requires careful process management to achieve consistent results. Our team spent time refining the moulding parameters to ensure every Aquatap unit meets the durability and aesthetic standards needed for public installation.

Making an impact

Every Aquatap station represents marine waste that has been removed from the environment and given a second life as public infrastructure. It is a tangible example of how manufacturing can be part of the solution to environmental challenges, not just part of the problem.
