What is rotational moulding?
Rotational moulding, often shortened to rotomoulding, is a manufacturing process used to create hollow plastic products. It is one of the most versatile and cost-effective methods for producing everything from small containers to large industrial tanks.
How it works
The process involves four key stages. First, a measured amount of polyethylene powder is loaded into a hollow mould. The mould is then heated in an oven while being rotated simultaneously on two axes. As the plastic melts, it coats the inner surface of the mould evenly. After heating, the mould is cooled gradually, and the finished product is removed.
